KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot mineral processing machinery such as:
• Vibrating screens and sieving equipment
• Washing plants and classifiers
• Rotary dryers and drying systems
• Conveyors, crushers, and feeders
• Pumps, compressors, and blowers
• Mixers and blending equipment used in construction chemical production
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, and plant shutdown activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure spare parts availability and maintain maintenance records.
• Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors when required.
• Follow plant safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Assist in planning maintenance schedules to minimize production downtime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce maintenance costs.
Job Profile and Description
A Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, reliability, and
continuous improvement of mechanical equipment used in mineral processing and construction chemical
production. The role involves managing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting
equipment failures, supporting plant operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment including vibrating screens, sieving units, washing plants, rotary dryers, conveyors, crushers, pumps, compressors, and mixers.
Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, alignment, and condition monitoring of rotating equipment.
Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate maintenance activities with production and operations teams.
Prepare maintenance schedules, work orders, and technical reports.
Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance records.
Supervise maintenance technicians and external contractors when required.
Participate in plant shutdowns, equipment overhauls, and commissioning activities.
Ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with HSE regulations and company procedures.
Skills and Qualification
Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience with mineral processing and material handling equipment.
Knowledge of pumps, conveyors, dryers, crushers, mixers, and rotating machinery.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Knowledge of welding, fabrication, alignment, and bearing replacement techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
3–10 years of experience in mineral processing, construction chemicals, cement, mining, manufacturing, or related industries.
Experience in maintenance and operation of screening, washing, drying, and material handling systems.
Knowledge of industrial safety standards and maintenance best practices.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance activities.
Professional certifications in maintenance, reliability, or safety are an added advantage.
